Rep. Bassey Akiba Extends Educational Support to Margaret Ekpo Secondary School, Calabar

The Member representing Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Bassey Akiba, has continued to demonstrate his commitment to educational development by reaching out to students of Margaret Ekpo Secondary School in Ward 2, Calabar Municipal.

Representing the lawmaker during the outreach, his Chief of Staff, Mr. Asako, stated that the initiative is part of an ongoing educational support program that began following Rep. Akiba’s emergence as a member of the Federal House of Representatives. He emphasized that the program is specifically designed to encourage and reward academically outstanding students across the constituency.

As part of the intervention, beneficiaries received educational materials and tuition fees. According to the Chief of Staff, the materials and financial assistance are delivered directly to the beneficiaries rather than through intermediaries, a move aimed at promoting transparency and accountability in the process.

The students expressed heartfelt appreciation to Rep. Akiba for remembering them and for helping to ease the burden of tuition and other school-related expenses on their parents. Many described the gesture as timely and encouraging, pledging to remain focused on their academic pursuits.

The initiative further underscores Rep. Akiba’s continued efforts to invest in human capital development and strengthen educational opportunities within his constituency.
