BREAKING NEWS: Senator Gershom Bassey Dumps PDP, Says “The Vehicle Is Broken”
Former Senator representing Cross River South and one of the influential “Three Wise Men” behind the introduction of zoning in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State, Senator Gershom Bassey, has officially resigned from the PDP .
The announcement marks a significant political shift in the state, especially given Senator Bassey’s role as a member of the party (PDP) and a former governorship aspirant.
In a letter of notification, Senator Bassey reflected on his journey with the party:
“It’s been a blast being a founding member of PDP. I’m proud of all our accomplishments. We produced three two-term governors, numerous senators and members of the House of Reps, many House of Assembly members, LGA chairmen and councillors. We impacted positively on Cross River State.”
However, the seasoned politician hinted at deep dissatisfaction with the current state of the party, stating:
“But it looks like the vehicle is broken and is not ready to redeem itself.”
He concluded his message with a heartfelt farewell:
“Best wishes my dear brothers and sisters.”
While he has yet to reveal his next political destination, all eyes will be on Senator Bassey in the coming days as speculations grow about his next move.
