I am deeply saddened by the devastating effects of the recent windstorm that struck Ojuk South and North communities in Akamkpa II State Constituency. The extensive damage to homes, schools, churches, and livelihoods is a tragic loss for the people of these communities, and my heartfelt sympathies go out to all those affected. I commend Hon. Linus Bassey for bringing this critical issue to the Cross River State House of Assembly, and I strongly support the resolutions calling for urgent intervention by the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and other relevant government bodies.
In response to this unfortunate disaster, I am committed to working closely with stakeholders, including community leaders, government agencies, and humanitarian organizations, to ensure swift relief and long-term rehabilitation efforts. I will do all within my capacity to provide support to those affected and advocate for necessary resources to rebuild and strengthen these communities against future occurrences.
My thoughts and prayers remain with the people of Akamkpa II at this challenging time.
