It was a historic moment for the University of Education and Entrepreneur (UEE), Akamkpa, Cross River State as the institution played host to the NUC team for the resource verification exercise, earlier today.
In his welcome address, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Patrick N. Asuquo, expressed confidence in the institution’s capacity to deliver on its academic mandates. He stated, graduates of the University will become job creators instead of hunting for jobs as they will acquire certificates as well as skills. He added that recommendations from the NUC team will help to spotlight the institution to meet global standards which is the passionate desire of the University. He also acknowledged the State governor’s commitment and passion for the University.
Leading the NUC delegation, Prof. Sani Abdu Fari, assured the university of a thorough evaluation process. “Our assignment is simple. We have a checklist to effectively assess your staffing, facilities, classrooms, and other critical areas. Our team will provide recommendations on areas that need improvement.”
The resource verification exercise involved a detailed assessment of the university’s academic and infrastructural capacities, such as the library, Career Service Center, Faculties, and various departments of the University and also staffing.
During the exit briefing, the team commended the university for its efforts in establishing a robust infrastructural base, facilities, and that the “university is laying a strong foundation, and from what we’ve seen, it has the potential to produce graduates who will not only excel in their educational field but in practice”. They also provided recommendations and suggestions to help UEE achieve its vision of running high-standard programmes.
