Tinubu Administration Prioritizes South-South Road Infrastructure for Regional Transformation

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has placed strong emphasis on the transformation of the South-South region through massive investments in road infrastructure aimed at improving connectivity, trade, and economic growth.

Key projects receiving accelerated attention include the rehabilitation and upgrade of the East–West Road, construction of the Bodo–Bonny Road, continued work on the Benin–Sapele–Warri Road (Section II), and the development of new strategic links such as the Eleme–Onne Road.

In Cross River State, major construction is ongoing on the Calabar–Itu Road as well as the ambitious Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, a flagship project expected to redefine transportation and commerce along Nigeria’s coastal corridor.

These projects, spanning rehabilitation, dualization, and entirely new construction, reflect the Federal Government’s commitment to opening up the South-South for increased investment, trade, and sustainable economic development.
