The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Banku Obi has refuted claims on some online platforms that the Management of the Institution is contemplating on a plan to increase school fees.

While describing it as fake and unfounded, the Vice Chancellor urged students and the general public to disregard such information saying the management has no such intention now.

Prof. Obi also ordered fake news mongers to halt their activities concerning the University of Calabar and advised the public to discountenance patronage of mischief makers and embrace the institution approved channels of communication.

The Vice-Chancellor further reaffirmed her Administration\’s commitment to students and staff welfare; saying that the administration is not oblivious of the hike in the cost of running the institution, but when there is a need to increase the school charges, students and the public will be informed through appropriate channels.She however urged the public to disregard rumour mills as speculated by online platforms.
