UNICAL: VC Set to Commission 500-Seat Twin \’Abandoned\’ Lecture Pavilion

In line with her Administrative policy thrust to complete all abandoned projects in the Institution, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Banku Obi has completed another \’abandoned\’ 500-seat twin lecture pavilion which is cited opposite the Faculty of Engineering.

The 500-seat twin lecture pavilion which has 500 seats each also has 8 restrooms for students and lecturers, drainages and a luxury packing lot.

Upon assumption of office, Prof. Obi who condemned the high number of abandoned projects says it is of bad faith to start a project you cannot complete and her administration will not leave any abandoned project in the institution. Staying true and committed to changing the trajectory, Obi has remodeled many structures and completed numerous abandoned projects while erecting new ones.

By the time this gigantic and beautiful edifice Is commissioned and put into use, it\’ll be an added succour to the previous challenge of inadequate lecture venues faced by students. The Amazon who\’s popularly known as \’Mama Projects\’ has raised the bar in the University education while setting standard for others to follow.

As said by many and sundry, by the time Prof. Obi is done with the University of Calabar, the Institution will become the new African Harvard University.
