The Faculty of Engineering, University of Cross River State, is currently holding a workshop on “Research Writing Skills and Publication for Postgraduate students”.
The workshop began on Wednesday, 14th May 2025.
It will end today, Friday, 16th May 2025.
While declaring the workshop open, the Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Simon Ogbeche Odey, emphasized that it was initiated to foster academic research excellence in all the Post Graduate students. He expressed optimism that the workshop will enhance proficiency in dissertation and thesis development, writing and timely submission.
The Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Francisca Bassey, had earlier unveiled the banner for the workshop during her working visit to the Faculty on the 13th May, 2025.
She prayed for the success of the workshop and commended the Dean of Faculty of Engineering and staff of the Faculty for initiating it..
Meanwhile, the Dean of Faculty of Engineering, has invited Researchers to join this exclusive workshop to learn the art of writing high impact research papers and publications.
He stated that the workshop promises to unlock the secrets to exceptional research writing and publication.
Prof. Ogbeche added that participants at the workshop should expect expert insights in research writing and publication, practical tips for enhancing writing skills and strategies for publishing in high impact journals.
The Dean of Faculty has further encouraged UNICROSS community and the general public to take advantage of this opportunity and participate in the workshop to improve on their research skills and stay ahead in their fields.
He has urged interested participants to register now and take their research to the next level.
In addition, the Acting Vice Chancellor commissioned a borehole meant for a 24-hour water supply for use by the faculty, during her visit.
The Dean of Faculty of Engineering explained that the borehole project was conceived out of the desire to complement the University Management’s drive to lift UNICROSS to higher grounds.
