The Vice Chancellor of the university of calabar,Professor Florence obi has been selected to be honoured as the recipient of there\’s 2023 \”The Thomas and Corinne Nyquist Distinguished Service
Award\” Are lease signed by the president,DrBekeh Ukelina and vice president,Dr Ndubueze Mbah of
the New York African Studies.
Association(NYASA) disclosed that the choice of prof Florence obi was based on her outstanding contributions through dedicated service in the advancement of
higher education and knowledge of Africa.
The release specifically recognised the many years of service of Prof. Florence on her diverse capacities as a lecturer,Professor,deputy vice chancellor(Academic),Member of the
university\’s governing council,honourable commissioner of women affairs&Social
Development,Member of cross river state executive council and now first female Vice Chancellor of the institution.
The award will be presented to the Vice Chancellor,Prof Florence Obi at the 46th NYASA Annual conference slated to be held at the university of Calabar on June 30, 2023.
