The United Nations has set aside August 12th to celebrate youth in all countries.
On this note, the Cross River State Youth Wing has started making plans to join the world in celebrating this wonderful day in a unique way; therefore, there’s a change in celebrating the youths of Cross River State to mark International Youth Day.
The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Cross River State Chapter, Comrade Dan Obo Jr., made it clear to newsmen on August 1st that Cross River State, 2023 International Youth Day, will have a new way of celebrating youths.
Daniel further explains that the state has been celebrating International Youth Day only at the Transcorp Hotel, and by this act, a lot of Cross Riverians are not taking part or seeing the advantage of this day set aside to celebrate them.
Therefore, a new strategy is out that is going to involve all youths of the state in taking part in celebrating International Youth Day (August 12th, 2023).
This is clearly known: Cross River State will celebrate International Youth Day in its 18th local government areas.
The 2023 International Youth Day celebration falls on Saturday; therefore, every local government leader can Choose this day to celebrate with the youths.
Comrade Dan Obo Jr. stated clearly that the theme for this year\’s International Youth Day 2023 is \”Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World (Division for Inclusive Social Development, DISD), and as such, every local government leader can use this theme to impact their local government youths, knowing fully well that every local government has what is bordering their youths.
The chairman further stated that some local governments are basically facing cultism,some are facing health challenges,ignorance of entrepreneurial activities,educational insights,ideas to be creative, and lots more. If the local government leaders celebrate International Youth Day within the local government, each leader will have the ability to meet more youth and interact with them.
During this week, our local government leaders can set up skill acquisition and motivational talks to encourage many who feel unstable in life and to emphasize related issues that are faced by the youth within the local government and state.

The chairman advised the youths to remain calm,support government,be of value to ourselves,learn skills, and always be sure that the leadership of the youths is always available to interfere and interfere where necessary as much as it will bring value to you. He also appealed to young people to stay off crime.
