CMD UCTH CUP Semifinal Results
The CMD/UCTH Football Tournament 2025 has reached its semi-final stage, held on May 12, 2025, with thrilling matches that determined the finalists of this year’s competition.
Below are Semi-Final Fixtures and Results for the UCTH CMD cup:
NNS 1 – 0 NBA
The first semi-final saw NNS narrowly defeat NBA in a tense match, securing their spot in the final.
UCTH 0 – 1 ICAN
In the second semi-final, ICAN edged out UCTH, the host team, in a tightly contested game.
After the CMD UCTH CUP Semifinal tournament reactions were received by both teams and organizers of the tournament.
CMD/CEO of UCTH, Dr. Ikpeme A. Ikpeme, praised the overall performance of all teams throughout the tournament. Speaking after the semifinal loss, he noted:
“It was a great match, though one mistake cost the hosting team their chance at the final. We’re proud of what the UCTH team achieved in just three weeks. No external players all our squad members were doctors, radiographers, lab scientists, nurses, and other hospital staff.”
Despite the loss, Dr. Ikpeme expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, highlighting their coordination and determination.
Kingsley Edet Ekpo, captain of ICAN, expressed pride in leading his team to victory:

“I’m proud to be part of this team. Despite UCTH’s strong efforts, we stood our ground and made it through to the final.”
Mr. Cobham Edet, coach of ICAN, also shared his joy:
“This is my first experience coaching a team of chartered accountants in a football tournament, and it has been incredible. Playing against the host team was tough, but my players gave their best, and we made it to the final.”
He appreciated the CMD/UCTH and the organizing committee for creating such a meaningful and competitive event.
