We wish to address the circulating rumors alleging planned protests by councilors. These claims are entirely unfounded and stem from misinformation.
For the avoidance of doubt, no official statement has been issued by any councilor regarding protests within the 196-member council. Any remarks credited to unnamed or unofficial sources do not represent the collective position of councilors across Cross River State.
We remain committed to maintaining a cooperative and respectful working relationship with the Government of Cross River State, under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu.
Our recent meeting was convened solely to strengthen unity among members and provide updates on activities across our respective wards.
