Cross river medical students association worldwide Drums support for Dr Betta

The Nigerian political scene is one that comprises of numerous hills and turbulent waters which one must navigate to become successful and it takes only the brave to navigate and make it to the top.

One of such brave persons out there is the daring Dr. Betta Edu, a woman who has not only surmounted the hills but has also been able to navigate the turbulent waters to reach the level where she is today.

Her sagacity and resourcefulness was demonstrated during her time as commissioner of Health in Cross River State, where she did immensely well by curtailing the deadly Covid-19 and also earning herself a position as Dean of Commissioners of Health in Nigeria. Not resting on her laurels as Commissioner of Health, she progressed to become the National Women\’s leader of the All progressive Congress, a position where she worked tirelessly to ensure the emergence of the party as winners in the presidential polls.

She\’s a renowned doctor who employed her strengths, youth and sound mind to ensure that His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu came out top. This was evident by her being at the fore front of numerous campaigns and even following the team to Chatham House.

It is no news that a campaign of calumny has been engineered against her, done to smear her name and reputation, but one who has such a clean record and evidence of hard work and success cannot be labeled as evil just to aid her detractors score cheap points.

She has worked and deserves her recognition as it is due all those who worked. It is to this regard, that we the Cross River Medical and Dental Students Association (CRIMSA) write to drum our support for a doctor who has braved the waters to achieve this much and has continuously affected the lives of the members of the association positively, we stand by her till the end. For a star as bright as hers only gives hope to the young and shouldn\’t be dimmed because of hate and the love for personal gains.
