Dr. Martha Agba Attend south-South meeting Throws Support Behind Gov. Bassey Otu, Deputy Ahead of 2027

Prominent political advocate and women development enthusiast, Dr. Martha Agba, has thrown her weight behind the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu, and his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking to newsmen in Benin City, Agba commended Governor Otu’s leadership style, describing it as people-oriented and progressive. She applauded the Governor’s unwavering commitment to inclusive governance, particularly his deliberate efforts to involve young women in the affairs of government.

“Governor Otu has shown that he understands the importance of carrying everyone along. His administration has been intentional in opening doors for young women to participate in leadership and policy-making,” Agba stated.

She also praised the Governor for consolidating on the gains of previous administrations while also making visible strides in delivering basic infrastructure across the state. According to her, such balanced governance has restored confidence in leadership and laid a strong foundation for sustainable development.

In a passionate appeal, Martha Agba encouraged more young women to step forward and participate actively in governance. She urged them to begin positioning themselves for elective offices ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that inclusive political participation is essential for the growth of Nigeria’s democracy in all levels of Governance.

“Women must no longer sit on the sidelines but be at Decisions making tables where concerns about them are raised. It is time for more especially young women to be supported to get involved and contribute in shaping the future of our country,” as 35% female affirmation has been promised and she await the manifestation in crossriver” she added.
