Dr. Martha Agba has congratulated the Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu and his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Agbe Odey, PhD, on the success of his recently concluded five-day tour of Northern Cross River.
The tour, which coincided with the 2025 New Yam Festivals across Bekwarra, Obanliku, Obudu, Ogoja, and Yala, was more than a cultural courtesy. It showcased a government that listens, with over ₦250 million worth of interventions, ranging from boreholes and agricultural inputs to youth empowerment projects, delivered directly to communities.
Dr. Agba commended Governor Otu led administration for her swift response to pressing needs, citing the Deputy Governor’s ₦5 million support to women farmers in Obudu as a timely example. She emphasized that the warm reception from traditional rulers, women, youths, and persons with disabilities who were well captured in the entire process, reflects growing confidence in the People First administration of Governor Bassey Otu.
Describing Dr. Odey as “a man of strength and proven capacity,” Dr. Agba praised his inclusive leadership and affirmed that the Northern Tour has set a new standard for participatory governance in the state.
She further thanked the leadership of NORTHCCO, led by High Chief Higgins Peter, for their full participation, noting that the growth and development of Cross River North is a shared responsibility for all indigenes of the region.
