The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced the sale of application forms for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage and the Ramadan Umrah exercise, urging intending pilgrims to register early and begin payment of their fares.
The Board said the registration exercise is in line with the timetable and payment guidelines issued by the Saudi Arabian authorities and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Board’s Secretary, Abdul-Hakeem Ajomagberin, prospective pilgrims are required to make an initial deposit of ₦7 million as part of the Hajj fare payment.
Ajomagberin explained that early registration and prompt payment would enable the state to meet deadlines set by the Saudi authorities and ensure smooth planning for the pilgrimage.
He encouraged interested Muslims in Lagos State to obtain the official application forms from the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board and comply with all registration requirements to avoid missing the opportunity to participate in the 2027 Hajj.
The Board also assured intending pilgrims of a transparent and efficient registration process, while advising applicants to seek information only through its official channels to avoid falling victim to fraudsters.
The 2027 Hajj is expected to attract thousands of Nigerian pilgrims, with states already beginning preparations in line with the annual pilgrimage schedule.
