It was a colorful and memorable celebration as the Qua Ejagham Nation marked the 5th Anniversary of HRM Ndidem Dr. Eta Bassey Eteta III, Ndidem of the Quas, Paramount Ruler/President of Calabar Municipal Traditional Rulers Council, and Grand Patriarch of the Ejagham Nation.
The grand event, which honored distinguished Cross Riverians for their contributions to the growth and development of the state, saw Hon. Ekanem Ekpenyong, Special Adviser to the Governor on Sports Development, and his wife Dr. Janet Ekpenyong, among the awardees recognized with prestigious traditional titles.
Hon. Ekanem Ekpenyong was conferred the title of Ntufam, while his wife, Dr. Janet Ekpenyong, was crowned Ntunkae — both celebrated for their outstanding service and commitment to community development.
In his remarks, Ntufam Ekanem Ekpenyong expressed gratitude to the Paramount Ruler and the Qua Ejagham Traditional Council for the honor, describing the recognition as a call to do more. He emphasized that both the Efik and Qua people are one, bound by shared heritage and mutual respect.
