Natasha Lied to Nigerians She Must Stop Misrepresenting Facts to Gain Public Sympathy

Once Again, Natasha Lied to Nigerians. She Must Stop Misrepresenting Facts to Gain Public Sympathy! Nigerians Must Always Fact-Check!

The shameless peddling of falsehoods by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan must not go unchallenged! Once again, she has deliberately misled Nigerians in her desperate attempt to gain public sympathy. Her claims regarding the siting of five Mini LNG Plants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State, are outright false, misleading, and an insult to the intelligence of Nigerians who deserve the truth.

The Senate has now set the record straight; The siting of Prime LNG, NGML/Gasnexus LNG, BUA LNG, Highland LNG, and LNG Arete in Ajaokuta was not influenced by the Senate Committee on Gas or any Senator. These projects are purely private sector-driven, not Federal Government initiatives, and certainly not the result of Natasha’s supposed influence.

Chairman of the Senate Committee on Gas, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe (PDP, Cross River North), has categorically dismissed Natasha’s claims as baseless and deceptive. In a strongly worded statement issued on Sunday, he made it clear that neither the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) nor any political entity played a role in determining the location of these projects.

Please Let’s be clear; Natasha’s allegations, made during a telephone interview on ‘Brekete Family’ on Human Rights Radio in Abuja, are nothing but a calculated lie meant to distort facts and deceive Nigerians. She falsely claimed that she was removed as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content because of her so-called influence over these LNG projects. Nothing could be further from the truth!

Senator Jarigbe has exposed her false narrative, stating that the private investors involved made independent decisions based on economic viability, availability of gas pipelines, and access to gas not political manipulation.

For Natasha to suggest that she personally influenced these projects is an insult to the intelligence of Nigerians. It is reckless, self-serving, and a deliberate attempt to manipulate public sentiment. Her habitual distortion of facts must stop!

Senator Jarigbe further emphasized that no Senator, including Natasha herself, had any authority over the siting of these LNG Plants. At best, lawmakers were only invited to engagements as observers, with no influence over final decisions.

Nigerians must reject Natasha’s pattern of deliberate misinformation. She cannot continue to spread lies, incite public sentiment, and manipulate narratives for personal gain. The facts are clear. The lies must stop!

Note; Senator Jarigbe reminded all Senators that their immunity does not extend beyond the Senate Chambers. Defamation has consequences, and reckless statements will not be tolerated. The dignity of the Senate must be upheld, and personal vendettas must not overshadow the truth.

Nigerians, always fact-check before believing political propaganda, we must always verify.

Malam Faroo Mohamed.
Chairman fact-checkers.
