The Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (MEDA) recently welcomed a delegation from Tearfund to discuss opportunities for collaboration in the global recycling market. The focus of the partnership is to drive industrialization and promote sustainability within the state.
Great Ogban, Director-General of MEDA, expressed enthusiasm about the potential for growth and development, particularly for small businesses in Cross River State.
The Tearfund delegation, led by Ben Osawe, Advocacy Manager, and George Songu, Programme Development and Performance Manager, explained that their visit was part of a stakeholder engagement process in preparation for investment in the state. They emphasized MEDA’s role in providing capacity building, business development, and financial management support for Resource Recovery Agents.
During their visit, the Tearfund representatives also met with key state officials, including the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey; Vice Chairman of the State Planning Commission, Dr. Bong Duke; and Dr. Inyang Asibong, Special Adviser on Gender Mainstreaming, who received them on behalf of the Wife of the Governor.
