YNN CONTRIBUTION IN CROSS RIVER STATE ONE – DAY CONSULTATIVE FORUM FOR 2023 PROPOSED BUDGET PREPARATION.
On the 28th September, 2022, a delegation of YNN ambassadors in Cross River State led by Comr. Emmanuel Ofem participated in the above subject event organized by the state Department of Budget Monitoring and Evaluation.
The uncommon invitation came to YNN as a result of the organization track record in advocacy for good Governance and workable budgetary recommendations for government institutions.
However, other reputable civil society organisations, stakeholders and eminent personalities were present in the event that had Hon. Okon Otu; S.S.A to the Governor on budget planning as chairman of occasion.
Highpoint of the meeting was the analytical presentation of the 2023 proposed budget, that was seen to have the allocation for social services as 22% in the chart containing the whole budget features.

It was on this note an ebullient YNN ambassador Charles Ibiang, on behalf of YNN observed the proposed budget by expressing concern on why the budget allocation for social services is that low. Considering the fact that the critical sectors that drives the state economy are hinged in this area.
Hence, he recommended increased budget for social services to enable address the lingering problems in the educational, economical, medical and religious institutions.
Furthermore, the S.S.A granted YNN audience after the meeting where Comr. Eko Francis used the opportunity to offer gratitude to him for the privilege that enabled YNN to contribute their quota to the state building. Thus, he also appeal to him to assist YNN in their website development project and the organization annual convention slated for November 2022.

The S.A in his words applauded YNN for their instrumentality in the scheme of things and promised to synergies with them in his future endeavors, perhaps give necessary support when needed.
