The Senator representing Cross River Southern Senatorial District made this statement while addressing some critical stakeholders recently in his office. He stated that if Cross River State must win subsequent elections, we must first ensure that PDP wins the first election coming up in February, that is, the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
Senator Bassey said even though Atiku may still be able to win elections without Cross River State, nevertheless, he insisted that Atiku will win with Cross River State. According to him, \”If Atiku wins, everybody wins. If Atiku wins and it is PDP all the way and so it is important we work hard to ensure that in February our Presidential Candidate wins completely in Cross River State \”
Senator Gershom Bassey reiterated that the Presidential election is the the key to all other elections. Thus he said, \”We know that Atiku is strong in other states and he can win without Cross River state but we are saying he must win with Cross River State\”. He assured that Cross River State will be the talisman for the Presidential election because if Atiku wins in Cross River State, he will win in all the south south states and indeed all Nigerian.
