Fire Engulfs Radio Nigeria Premises in Lagos.
Late Evening Inferno Sparks Emergency Response.
A massive fire erupted at the premises of Radio Nigeria on Plot No. 35, Ikoyi Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
This occured in the around 5:30pm in the evening of Wednesday ,the 27th of November 2924.
Thus, triggering a swift emergency response from multiple fire stations across the state.
The Firefighters arriving at the scene actively battled the blaze and engulfed the studio section of the U-shaped one-storey building.
Firefighters Tackle the Inferno in Lagos, Nigeria.
Firefighters from Dolphin, Ebute Elefun, and Oba Oniru Fire Stations were the first to arrive at the scene.
Later supported by the Federal Fire Service, the Nigeria Police Force, and other emergency responders.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority confirmed the incident via its official X account, warning commuters to avoid the area as emergency teams battled the inferno.
Emergency Response and Containment of the fire out burst.
The Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, praised the swift intervention of her agency and its partners in containing the fire.
Adeseye said in a statement.
“Although the inferno was well-alight when we arrived, collaborative efforts with our partners have contained it,”
“No casualties have been reported, and damping down of the fire embers is currently ongoing,” she added.
Cause of the Fire and Investigation
The cause of the inferno remains unknown, but investigations are actively underway.
Authorities have assured the public that further updates will be provided as the situation evolves.
Motorists and residents are advised to exercise caution and cooperate with emergency responders as they work to restore normalcy in the area.
Lagos Traffic Update and Road Closure.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) announced that a previously closed road is now open for movement.
“Obalende inward Passport Office has now been opened for movement,” LASTMA said in an update on X.
This is the ensure that communtant have been provided with an alternate route to their various Destinations.
