The Executive Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Otu, on Wednesday, 13th August 2025, warmly received the Youth Opportunity Summit 2025 (YOSCR2025) team at the Government House, Calabar, as part of activities marking the national program’s debut in the State. The Youth Opportunity Summit is an initiative from the Office of the Vice-President of Nigeria.
During the visit, the Summit team presented the symbolic Opportunity Box to the Governor, signifying a commitment to unlocking avenues for youth development, innovation, and empowerment in Cross River State.
Governor Otu, in his remarks, expressed delight at the event’s successful hosting and far-reaching national impact. He commended the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development and Skills Acquisition, Barr. Odum-ijom Ukam, for his visionary leadership and tireless effort in attracting such a prestigious national initiative to the State.
“This is a bold step towards positioning Cross River as a hub for youth-driven innovation and economic growth,” the Governor stated, assuring that his administration will continue to support programs that create opportunities for the youth.
The Governor further urged young people across the State to take full advantage of the platforms and resources provided by the Youth Opportunity Summit to develop themselves, contribute to the State’s advancement, and shape a prosperous future.
