The Akamkpa 8th Assembly, led by the Leader of Council, Hon. (Princess) Magdalene Ekpe, held a strategic meeting with the Commissioner for livestock NTUFAM Hon. Emmanuel Anom discuss opportunities for boosting livestock production in Cross River State.
During the discussion with the Akamkpa 8th Assembly and the Commissioner for livestock NTUFAM Hon. Emmanuel Anom, on the exploration of the vast farmlands lying fallow across the state. The Leader of the Assembly Hon. Magdalene Ekpe emphasized the need for revitalizing existing livestock infrastructure, such as Calachika that is located in calabar Municipal, and the Obudu Cattle Ranch Resort that is located at the Obudu local government area, to enhance meat and dairy production for self-sufficiency.
In response, the Commissioner for livestock NTUFAM Hon. Emmanuel Anom who commended the Akamkpa 8th Legislative Council for their proactive approach and acknowledged their visionary leadership. He also praised the local government authorities for actively supporting young people in political positions, emphasizing that their involvement is crucial for the future of the nation.
Furthermore, the Commissioner assured the council of the State Government willingness to collaborate with both the local governments to develop and expand the livestock sector, ensuring long-term benefits for the region.
