MISS AGRICULTURE PAGEANT; MIDC Commissioner Presents Car to Queen of Agriculture 2022 Winner Miss Eucharia Udida

An aspect of the Agro-industrial innovations of Governor Ben Ayade, the Miss Agriculture Pageant saw an indigene of the State, Miss Eucharia Udida receive a brand new car by the Cross River State government after emerging Queen of Agriculture 2022 earlier in the year.
Queen Eucharia Udida received the title after beating other contestants to win the famous Miss Agriculture contest earlier in the year organized by the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Agriculture and Value Chain Improvement, Mr Emmanuel Anoh.
Presenting the keys of a brand new car to the Queen of Agriculture on behalf of the State Deputy Governor, the Honorable Commissioner, Ministry of International Development Cooperation (MIDC), Dr. Inyang Asibong said the program was aimed at enhancing the betterment of youths in the state through agriculture and to curb social vices by channeling their mindsets into creative adventures.
The MIDC Commissioner explained that agricultural tourism, being an important component of the Ayade Administration, is targeted at aggressively boosting food sufficiency in the State as well as creating an enabling environment for young people to succeed.
An excited Queen Udida thanked the State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade and Her Excellency Dr Linda Ayade for setting up the annual Queen of Agriculture platform which according to her, is one of a kind in the state.
The presentation which was done at the Conference Room of the Deputy Governor had the nod of stakeholders from the Agriculture value chain such as the National Projects Coordinator of the APPEALS Project Mr Mohammed Jobdi, the Special Adviser to the Cross River State Governor on Agriculture Mr Emmanuel Anoh, the Project Coordinator of the APPEALS project, Mr Marcel Agim and several other dignitaries who were in attendance.

In a related development, the flagging-off ceremony of the second batch of input distribution of 40,000 units of poultry birds to Poultry farmers in the State by the state government in partnership with APPEALS and the World Bank at the Cross River Poultry Park, Calabar was carried out.
While releasing the birds into their pens on behalf of the State, the Deputy Governor, Prof. Ivara Esu revealed that the exercise is aimed at boosting poultry production in the State as well as increasing protein intake. Prof Esu stressed on the need for the beneficiaries to take deliberate measures in enhancing their lives with the donation, which according to him is a grant to poultry farmers to enable them enhance market linkages between producers and offtakers
