The Deputy Director-General [Operations] of Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organization, His Excellency, Sen. Liyel Imoke has described the APC\’s Tinubu/Shettima Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket as a threat to the country\’s unity and peace and an insult to the sensibilities of practitioners of other faiths in Nigeria. Imoke described the ticket as grossly unimaginative and an act of outright disrespect to Nigerian Christians.
Sen Imoke spoke while addressing a cross section of audiences including Traditional Rulers, Christian Associations, Civil Society groups and the people of Obubra Local Government Area at a town hall meeting organized by the CRS Presidential Campaign Organisation (PCO).

Senator Imoke said the choice of a Muslim running mate by Senator Bola Tinubu for whatever reason, in a country where Christians are about 51% of the population, speaks to his poor understanding of the complexity of Nigeria. Such insensitivity has been the hallmark of both Tinubu and the APC and clearly has become a pointer to how the APC led government will keep certain country men and women perpetually excluded in order to build alliances of power that work for only a section of Nigeria.
He charged the people of Obubra LGA to set aside emotions and objectively key into the Presidential Campaign Organization of the PDP which is the must trusted Party known to the people of Cross River State.
Speaking for and on behalf of Christian Association of Nigeria in Obubra, the Chairman, Pastor Victor Ovat, urged Christians to vote for the Party that will promote peace and unity in the country.
Pastor Ovat added that the Association will be fully involved in next year\’s elections and will encourage its members to vote for peace, unity and a prosperous country.
The town hall meeting had in attendance the Chairman of the CRS PCC , Sen Gershom Bassey , CRS-PCC Director-General , Hon Obeten Okorn , Members of CRS PCC, Rt Hon Bassey Ewa , Central Senatorial candidate, Rt Hon Okpechi Friday Gabriel, Obubra/Etung Federal constituency, Hon Frank Ovat , Obubra 2 State constituency candidate, Mr Theophilus Abri, Obubra 1 state constituency candidate and other stakeholders who took time to interact with the people of Obubra on the candidature of Atiku/Okowa and the need to vote PDP from top to bottom.
