Hon Chris noted that a hungry man is an angry man therefore, there is the need for government to deliberately support farmers with inputs to enable them produce enough for households.
“I am impressed with what we have on ground here at the Ogoja Rice Mill and it is my desire that our people should produce enough to consume and even more to sell in order to help boost our local economy and create jobs. As a council we will provide farmers with inputs and other materials to achieve this”. The Chairman said.
Earlier in his welcome speech, the general manager, Ogoja Ultramodern Rice Mill, Dr Tijani, commended the Chairman for choosing Ogoja Rice Mill as part of his first priority of visit.
While assuring the Hon Chairman of the Rice Mill’s willingness to support government’s agricultural policies and programmes on food security, Dr Tijani said the Rice Mill looks forward to a healthy collaboration with the Chairman to ensure high off take of their produce.
